Adobe House

Adobe House
5 x 7 inches
Oil on wood panel
(c) Bill Brauker

This is my first painting based on photos I took recently on an 8 day road trip with Anne and my sister Robin from Michigan. We went down to NM, then over to AZ where we got together with relatives. On the way back we spent two days in Taos with friends. We had great fun, and I have many, many photos of great landscapes. So check back as I continue to work on more.

This house was across the street from the Painted Desert Inn, in the Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. I loved how the late afternoon sunlight played on the adobe.

If you would like to purchase the painting for $125, (free shipping) email me.

Karin Jurick

This portrait of Karin Jurick was part of a project created by Jill Polsby. Karin operates a great site, Different Strokes from Different Folks, where she chooses a photo and many artists paint it. In December, she has artists send a photo of themselves and the photos are exchanged and everyone does a portrait of someone else. To thank her for her work on the project, Jill thought it would be nice if artists who have participated in the past do a portrait of Karin.

There was a great response. To see the 118 portraits, click here.
