Radiance

Radiance
30 x 40 inches
Oil on canvas.
A lovely woman in a large space, with radiant light around her.
I wanted this one to have a dreamlike quality to it. Many thanks to Andrew Gnezdilov, a Russian photographer who graciously gave me permission to use one of his photos for inspiration for this painting.

Oil on wood panel

Monument Valley is one of my favorite places. If you have never visited, do yourself a favor and go. I'm sure you will be awestruck.

LilyPads
8 x 10
Oil on wood panel.

This one was based on a photo of lily pads in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan last September. I loved the blues and the reflections in the water.

The View Through the Doorway

The View Through the Doorway
12 x 16 inches
Oil on wood panel.

For years I have been a fan of the artwork of Jack Vettriano, so I decided I would do a painting influenced by his style.  A UK photographer Satyruk2000  http://satyruk2000.deviantart.com/ graciously allowed me to use his wonderful photo as the inspiration for this painting. I've photographed this painting over 100 times trying to get the colors just right. It is still not perfect, but close.
