Shiprock, New Mexico

Shiprock, New Mexico
9 x 12 inches
Oil on wood panel
(c) Bill Brauker

Another in a series of Western paintings. Shiprock, is a rock formation rising nearly 1,583 feet (482.5 m) above the high-desert plain on the Navajo Nation in San Juan County, New Mexico. It's 7,177 feet (2,187.5 m) above the sea level, in the Northwest corner of the state.
Shiprock is the remnant of the throat of a volcano.

Shiprock is an amazing sight as it rises above the desert.
