San José de Gracia Church, Las Trampas, NM

Las Trampas, a small town on the scenic High Road to Taos, is approximately halfway between Santa Fe and Taos. The town was founded in 1751 and is known for the lovely San José de Gracia Church, built between 1760 and 1776. The church is a great example of adobe architecture. We stopped in mid afternoon in intense sunshine. The clear cobalt blue sky was amazing.

check out my blog. I have a photo up on the right, quite far down that is a church similar to your painting from Arizona.
