Three Musicians
8 X 10 inches
Acrylic on wood panel

I can't begin talking about this painting without talking about Karin Jurick first. Although I had taken many photos of people in museums, it was not until I saw her paintings that I realized the potential they had for interesting subjects to paint. I look at her blog almost every day and marvel at the magic that comes from her brushes. She is a real talent and a wonderful source of inspiration to those of us trying to get better each day. Take a look at her paintings here, and I guarantee, it will make your day.

This is a painting of three people looking at, The Three Musicians, by Diego Valezequez, in the National Gallery in London.

I love London, and it is always a joy to go to Trafalgar Square, not just because of the view, but for the fact that the wonderful National Gallery is there. One of the great things about it is that even if you are a starving artist, the great art of the world is available to you, because they do not charge admission. They do count on donations, however, so please reward them for the beautiful experience you are sure to have if you go there.

And when you go, be sure to see Vincent's, Sunflowers.
