Sunrise From My Bedroom Window

Sunrise From My Bedroom Window
5 x 7 inches
Oil on wood panel.
SOLD

The sunrises in Colorado are as spectacular as the sunsets, but the ones in January seem to be the best of all. This is from a photo I took last week from my bedroom window. It was the first time I tried something like this, and will not be the last, although trying to capture the grandeur of such a sight is a daunting task.

I love the way you captured the sunset. Sunsets are really difficult. A lot of artists tend to make them too chocolate boxy. Yours is nice and muted.

I love the colors Bill, sunrises are so different in the feel of the colors compared to sunsets. Great job capturing it.

Fabulous, Bill, wish I lived next door to you!

Jean - Actually it was the sunrise, but I know what you mean, I tried to keep away from that with this one.

Terry - Yes, it was the colors that drew me to it. And also the fact that I have about a million different sunrise and sunset photos (we have some wonderful ones here in Colorado) so I figured it was time to get busy on one.

I wish you did too, Sharon, then we could paint together.
